strange disturbing thoughts
infecting my head
pretending to be coherent
why does this happen

still i'm droning onward
towards what i do not know
takes such a long time
to get where i am going

cheerful distant eyes
watching all around me
distorting everthing I see
when will it end

goofy smiling faces
nodding in your direction
the face of helplessness
what is the meaning

cruel helping hands
groping at their leasure
touching but never feeling 
how can this go on

who do these thoughts belong to
is it misplaced memory
what keeps them going
all these things i can not understand
