to write about you,
I must also write about me
because there's something about you
that makes me feel sad
It's something I would like to have

the goal of course is to not
want what you can't achieve
yet strive for it as if you can

deep penetrating eyes, infectious laugh
gentle touch,  how can I miss
these things I've never had

unfortunate me, all that I see
getting it would be tragedy
it's the ideal I need I guess
foolish to confuse the issue

but it does feel so nice
to hug you tight and breathe in so deeply
in that moment I'm swayed to keep
striving even though I don't believe
